BlackBerry 8830 mute button settings. the mute key on top is only for standby on BlackBerry 8830 and to mute your microphone when you are in the middle of a call. when you are in standby,you can recieve calls. it also help you conserve battery life. if you want to mute all ringers and make BlackBerry 8830 vibrate, you should go into the profiles section and edit each profile for whether it is in holster/out of holster etc.
