How to format BlackBerry media card on BlackBerry Curve 8900. If you format the BlackBerry BlackBerry Curve 8900 memory or a media card, all the files in the device memory or on the media card are deleted. When the media card is in the BlackBerry Curve 8900, BB 8900 automatically creates a file system on the memory card. If the memory card is not formatted, you must format the card. The option to format the memory card is only available when a memory card is in the device.

To format BlackBerry emory or media card on BlackBerry Curve 8900 device, follow these steps: from BlackBerry Curve 8900 options > Memory > Press the Menu key, Click Format > then complete the instructions on the screen.  The ‘Any data stored on the card will be deleted’ message appears. Select Yes.

after formating, you can view the amount of available memory for storing files in the BlackBerry Curve 8900 ( from options >  Memory )
