how to turn off 3g on BlackBerry Bold 9000. the Rogers version of BlackBerry Bold 9000 does have the option to turn off/on 3G network. you can go into manage connections > mobile network options > network options > change this to 3G or 2G or 3G&2G

Most of the time, BlackBerry Bold users are connected to home or workplace Wifi so 3G is (more often than not) simply a battery waster. You can just go turn off data service if you want to save battery. Data services have nothing to do with making or dropping phone calls! But the 3G option has been disabled on BlackBerry Bold AT&T devices.
